(Molten Salts Reactor Energy Generator Integrated Nuclear Advanced) sul bando ๐„๐ฎ๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐จ๐ฆ ๐‡๐Ž๐‘๐ˆ๐™๐Ž๐-๐„๐”๐‘๐€๐“๐Ž๐Œ-๐‹๐’-๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”-๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ.

Il progetto punta a sviluppare e dimostrare la fattibilitร  ingegneristica (da TRL6 a TRL8) di un reattore Gen IV a sali fusi cloruri (TES-MSR) da 480 MWth, operante con ciclo autofertilizzante Torioโ€“ยฒยณยณU e stoccaggio termico integrato ad alta entalpia.

I punti chiave del progetto M.S.R.E.G.I.N.A.:
– Integrazione tecnologica: Operativitร  ad alte temperature (900โ€“1.200 ยฐC) con miscela salina C1 v2 e ciclo chiuso, a emissioni operative prossime allo zero.
– Brevetti e innovazione: Validazione del sistema di controllo neutronico a 32 barre in grafite arricchita ยนโฐB e colonna CTGD a 12 stadi SiC per la rigenerazione continua del combustibile.
– Roadway strategica: articolata tra Fase 1 (Grant Euratom da 9M โ‚ฌ) e Fase 2 (IPCEI Nuclear FID da 50M โ‚ฌ), mirata alla realizzazione di due prototipi dimostrativi in Italia (Puglia) e Danimarca, verso la prima licenza commerciale entro il 2031.

The project aims to develop and demonstrate the engineering feasibility (from TRL6 to TRL8) of a 480 MWth Gen IV chloride molten salt reactor (TES-MSR), operating on a self-breeding Thoriumโ€“ยฒยณยณU cycle with integrated high-enthalpy thermal storage.

Key highlights of the M.S.R.E.G.I.N.A. project:
– Technological integration: High-temperature operation (900โ€“1,200 ยฐC) with C1 v2 salt mixture and closed cycle, achieving near-zero operational emissions.
– Patents and innovation: Validation of the 32-bar enriched ยนโฐB graphite neutron control system and the 12-stage SiC CTGD column for continuous fuel regeneration.
– Strategic roadmap: Divided into Phase 1 (โ‚ฌ9M Euratom Grant) and Phase 2 (โ‚ฌ50M IPCEI Nuclear FID), targeting the construction of two demonstrator prototypes in Italy (Apulia) and Denmark, aiming for the first commercial license by 2031.
